When I saw the album cover of "the band perry" at walmart, I immediately picked up on how similar the facial structure one male band member was to the very pretty female band member in the center:

This is an interesting service.  I've heard of mechanical turk before (basically pay people 5 cents to do grunt work, like manually identify objects in photos).  This is an open service where you can offer nearly anything for $5.  advice, get a video of a puppet doing whatever you want, or... there are 2 artists that will artistically change your gender.  While I can't speak for their work, $5 seems like a fair price to try it out

movie time - strange days

For some reason this popped into my head.  Maybe I'm spending too much time in virtual face land.  In the movie "strange days", he does a demo inside a bar, tries to get the client to admit what his fantasy is.. Turns out, it's to be an 18 year old girl taking a shower.  If you haven't seen the movie, or remember that scene, here it is:

face stealer app - part2

Ok so I've tried it out a couple days, and I can't stop playing with it.  Here's a few more faces I've added.  Definitely been noticing how facial structure can change the way the face looks (hence, why some faces will work better on your face than others).  If you have a round face, stick to other round faces.

Being black is interesting

kaley cuoco has very distinct features and turned out well

Katy Perry has very distinct eyes

Pam anderson doesn't work so well, I ended up looking like some random MILF

Salma Hayek definitely got stretched.  She has a very slim face

Sandra Bullock same thing, not only is her face very different, the eyes and eyebrows ended up getting warped

Pink turned out surprisingly good, though my first attempt didn't go so good because her eyes were too closed and I ended up looking stoned

So I see a LOT of potential with this app.  Already it feels like a tool to feed the femme needs my brain has.  It's almost like nicorette gum, if I need to see myself as a girl for a moment (without all the trouble of spending an hour on makeup), I just open the app, make some faces, and I feel better.  Of course this is one better because I get to be celebrities (which I could never do in real life).  I'm tempted to install this on an ipad so it becomes more like a full mirror.

Of course I would like to see this app (or one like it) developed more.  This is simply taking 4 points to cut out the face, 2 points for eyes, and a slit for the mouth.  I want to see more accuracy through many dots, much like you would do for morphing software

And why does it have to stop at faces?  Why couldn't it augment reality for other parts of the body?

I've seen similiar apps that add accessories, change your face into animals, but you were always stuck with what they gave you.  No more, all you do is take a photo of a face, and it creates a mask automatically.  The app is free, and it comes with some sample masks (president obama, albert einstein, an anime character).  Not a single girl face, until you add some.. and although it's not perfect, the results are scaringly good (If the brightness changes, it adjusts the mask in realtime).  Now keep in mind there's some processing, so there will always be a delay (don't expect to video conference with this), but it's still fun to play with.  I tossed on a blouse, earrings, and a wig and had some fun with it:

The simpsons - Gorgeous Grampa

Even though this episode turned out to be about storage wars and grampa having a pro-wrestler career, I take some offense at Fox making the accusation that crossdressers are automatically gay (before they knew the whole story).  Quite frankly, I'm amazed they're taking such bold shots at something they clearly don't know anything about.  See a small snippet here:
